We believe that the initial exam is crucial to establish a relationship with our patients and hear their needs thoroughly. That is why you may notice that our initial exam is more substantial than you may have previously experienced at other practices.

Dr. Seekand begins getting to know you by collecting data in order to comprehensively evaluate your oral health. After reviewing your medical and dental history we begin gathering more detailed information. This comprehensive exam includes a series of records such as digital photos of your face, smile, and teeth along with digital x-rays to give us baseline information about your oral health. Also included is a digital 3D scan with our iTero scanner in order to have a 3D model of your teeth to track patterns over time.

Dr. Seekand’s exam will always cover four main areas. She will perform an extra oral and an intra oral cancer screening and evaluation of your jaw and facial muscles. Following that, a comprehensive tooth-by-tooth exam to review any existing dentistry, areas of your concern and areas that she may feel need attention. Dr. Seekand will examine your gum tissue as well as we know that so much of our systemic health is connected to our oral health and your gums are the foundation of that health.

Finally, Dr. Seekand will address any esthetic concerns or questions you may have in order to ensure that your personal Smile Rating is a 10/10.
